The camp offers a variety of enjoyable activities and programs such as:

Our 24 hour medical staff monitor diet and supervises insulin administration and blood sugar testing. We have an emergency airlift arrangement with Mercy Medical Hospital in Redding for any incident that may require that service. Medical educational activities assist campers in becoming responsible for their individual health programs.
One counselor is provided for the appropriate number and age of the campers. Counselors receive basic training in support the medical staff and assisting campers. Counselors are selected from Lions, Lionesses, students, teachers, etc. Counselors are role models for campers and positively impact each camper's experience.

The Diabetic Camp for diabetic youth ages 8-17 will be Sunday, June 20, to Saturday, June 26, 2010.
The Family Camp for diabetic youth ages 7 and younger and their families will be Friday, June 11, to Sunday, June 13, 2010.
Campers receive an assigned time to "Check-In" in the "Welcome to Camp" letter which is sent shortly before camp begins. "Check-Out" occurs on the last day after our 10:00am closing ceremony and before 12:00pm.
The cost of seven days at camp is $300. The amount paid may be adjusted according to the family's demonstrated need. Requests for financial assistance, "Camperships", are submitted along with the application. See the application for details.

Camp is held at beautiful Lake McCumber, just seven miles east of Shingletown and twelve miles west of Lassen Volcanic National Park, off Hwy 44. With a beautiful wooded area, lake and recreation facility, this site offers the activities of outdoor camping while supplying the comforts of home - electricity, hot showers, cozy cabins and cafeteria style meals. The camp's elevation is 4,200 feet.

Donations are very important and helpful! Each year we need to have additional funds to cover the costs of the camp. Please consider a donation to assist us in making this camp possible, by funding a camper from your area.
